You can get even shorter times on the longs, if you throw away the 
first long of each type.  For example...

    put the long seconds into junk

Put that just before your first use of the long seconds.  Do likewise 
with other longs.

With that, I got 3, sometimes 4, microseconds to get the value.

Which is quicker now?
