What is version 2.7?

It's just like when HC went from version 1.x to 2.0. The files on disk 
changed format. Version 2.0 could read old HC stacks but couldn't write 
to them until they were "converted" to 2.0 format. Once saved as 2.0 
stacks, HC 1.0 could no longer open those stacks.

Rev changed its file format, which allows it to store more types of data 
and do more things than before. You don't need to do any formal 
conversion process as we did in HC, but once a stack is saved in 2.7 
format (the new format) older versions of the engine can no longer open 
those files.

You should purchase the latest version of Revolution, currently 2.7.3. 
It has the option to save stacks in either the old format or the new 
one, so you are not locked in to either one. If you do find you need to 
open a 2.7 stack in your old version of MC, for example, you can re-open 
the stackc in Rev, save it in "legacy" format, and then it will open in 
your old copy of MC.
