Importing Unicode

As you will see from my multilingual multiple choice widget
I have non-Roman texts 'flying around' btewwen fields:

I have managed this in the past with 'unicodeText' as well
as the 'htmlText' I use in this widget.

However,

I am still stumped as to how to import unicode text from
RTF or other documents...
