The first time Rev starts up, it registers its extension and creator 
signature with File Exchange (so that if you download a file with a 
.rev extension but no type/creator signature, it knows which app to 
associate the file with).

Last I checked this was in the Rev IDE, not the engine. I haven't 
checked whether the current MC IDE does the same, but it would make 
sense.
