Err... MetaCard? Revolution?

This confusion comes up a lot.

MetaCard makes the engine that is at the heart of Runtime Revolution.

Runtime Revolution licenses the MetaCard engine and puts a more polished user interface on it, augmenting the engine with UI-specific stuff in the process.

I prefer working in Revolution because the tool does more of the work for me. Others prefer MC because changes in the engine are faster and the rather less polished UI makes working across platforms in development a more similar experience. There may be other reasons as well.
