Yes, that number can be scaled up or down as needed.  You may run into some 
limit imposed by MC or the operating system on the size of a file or size of 
a variable  but these can usually be worked around.  I simply generate a 
number of keyFiles of modest size and then switch to a new one after each is 
used.
