Update Mac menubar

Oh man, I am sooo close!

I can taste it...

I put a handler in called updateMenus to run when moving to a card 
that changes the menubar.

The gist of it is to suspend the stack, and then resume it.  And it 
does work.  The menubar does update.

on updateMenus
   lock screen
   lock messages
   go stack "info"
   close stack "info"
   unlock screen
end updateMenus

But the stack being opened, appears for a brief flash, before 
disappearing. If I "go invisible" then the menus don't update.

All I know is that I'm close, and by golly, there's going to be a workaround!

Anybody know of a better way to suspend/resume a stack?  Without 
going anywhere??
