Inspiration didn't impress me at first, but when I saw it at the NECC
convention demoed by a person who knew how to use it well, I was loved
it and recommended it to my district. Its power is in its simplicity.
It is brainstorming software that kids can employ without much
training. Yes, its graphics are childish, and that's a pity.
Comparing Inspiration to Rev is like comparing a set of plastic
stencils to an automobile's GPS device. They are not the same kind of
tool. Both are good at what they do, but neither is better than the
other. Educators will pay for something that makes what they do in the
classroom easier, or something that will make what students do easier.
Rev doesn't do this. Inspiration does this, and that's why it is so
popular with teachers.
Personally, I don't think that it would be much of a challenge to
recreate Inspiration's functionality in Rev -- neither difficult nor
worthwhile.
