What is RR?

Friends:

Some time ago I must have subscribed to this list thinking it was 
interesting - and then it went dormant. I never did find out what it was 
about. Could someone tell me what the list is about and what RR is and 
how I would get a hold of the application. I did a search but came up 
with a product of the same name that appeared to cost a lot of money to 
use. I'm assuming that most teachers do not have the funds to use an 
expensive application - so could someone educate me and point me in the 
right direction to download/evaluate the application?

Most people seem enthusiastic about it. I'd like to be enthusiastic, too.
