I like the idea... In the attach, you will find java code to do so.
Taken from: http://usinaquiz.free.fr/indexjeu.htm

If you manage french well enough, there are free to reuse and
sometimes opensource code for all sorts of education games. If you
don't know any french, here is a quick index: mot mêlés = wordsearch,
mots croisé = crossword, pendu = hangman, associer= associate, texte
a trou = text with wholes). For each game, you can download the code
or source (click on the télécharger icon; télécharger = download)

-------------- next part --------------

I really invite you to add this to the project page... <http://
revolution.lexicall.org/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=RevolutionProjects>

For list of words and so on, feel free to use:
material=data&language=english>

For instance, you will find there a database of early kid
vocabulary: Children's - Stuart et al. (2003). I have more such
resources on my computer (I am a psycholinguist, specialized in
single word recognition :-)) )

Clicking on the small form-like icon will pop a form that you can use
to query a word with some characteristics. For instance, words of a
given length, words of a given spelling using regular expression (you
may have come across that term in revolution... very useful for
crosswords, you can find all the words with the letters r.v.l.t..n --
where "." stands for any letter).

Marielle
