Well, mostly I'm just curious about what's really 'in' in ed, as
conversations with others, especially outside of the US, would seem to
indicate that my program gave short-shrift to the broad spectrum of
current and competing (or not) theories.
For example, we got constructivism up the wahoo whereas Papert, who they
probably considered too much of a 'geek, and Dewey (I have vague and dim
memories of a passing comment) were broadly glossed over.
In general, we had two years of "objectivism is bad, constructivism
rules", more or less.
As you can see, I walked out of it unimpressed with their 'construct' of
the field...
