Lots of cell phones, though. The third world, for the most part, isn't
saddled with the copper-wire infrastructure that the overdeveloped
world has to deal with. I'm thinking that a similar sort of
technological leapfrog step is possible by seeding linux laptops -
bypassing the backwards compatibility issues that Windows and
Macintosh OSs have to deal with.

Well, that seems a bit stifling. From what I remember GPL and Creative
Commons licensing aren't strictly compatible...

My vision is that MIT and runrev will reach an agreement in which
DreamCard is embedded in the laptop's firmware, ready for use as soon
as the computer has booted up. Maybe with turtle graphics built in.
