The reason HyperCard could get away with this is that the Mac OS
(pre-OSX) allowed applications to modify themselves. Since it's the
only one of the supported rev platforms to allow this (Windows, OSX,
and linux don't) it was decided to disallow this behavior in the Mac
OS as well in order to avoid nasty cross-platform surprises.
