First, let me point out that while I didn't explicitly subscribe to this 
list, I DID authorize the Revolution folks to provide me with 
information about using Revolution in education.  Apparently, they took 
this as my acceptance to be added to their Revolution in Education 
mailing list - not what I expected but fair enough I guess.

The list IS filling my mailbox, so I will unsubscribe via their 
webpage.  It is a poorly-designed page:  the password is required ONLY 
if you are logging into something (what, I don't know).  Below that is a 
separate section for unsubscribing - just click on that button and we 
should be all set.

A final word to the folks at Revolution - this could have been handled 
much better than it was.  In the future, make it clear when a mailing 
list is being subscribed to.  In this instance, you would have been 
better served to have alerted everyone via a single email message that a 
mailing list was available and offered us the opportunity to subscribe.
